The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) runs the only state land loan program of its kind in the country. Texas veterans can borrow up to $200,000 to buy land in Texas at competitive interest rates, with as little as 5% down, on a fixed 30-year term. The land must be at least one acre.
Restrictions
Must be a bona fide Texas resident. Service requirement: at least 90 active duty days (or discharged sooner due to service-connected disability), honorable/general/medical discharge. Two veteran spouses applying together may borrow up to $275,000. Land must be wholly within Texas. No prepayment penalty.
