NC state employees who are reservists or National Guard members called to active duty for more than 30 days receive differential pay from the state, meaning the state pays the difference between their state salary and their military pay so they don't lose income while serving.

Restrictions

Only applies when military pay is less than the employee's state salary. State employee must be serving in a reserve component of the US Armed Forces. Contact your state agency human resources office to initiate differential pay during mobilization.
