Montana National Guard and Reserve members injured in combat during a federal contingency operation can receive a one-time $2,000 casualty-based grant to help offset costs related to the injury. Requires documentation of a Purple Heart Award or equivalent injury documentation.

Restrictions

Injury must have been sustained in the course of or directly related to combat in a contingency operation. Member must be a Montana resident who served under federal orders for at least 30 consecutive days. Distinct from the status-based and need-based grants.
