Details
Families of Massachusetts National Guard members and Massachusetts-resident reservists who have deployed for at least 30 consecutive days may apply for a need-based grant of up to $1,000 to cover financial hardship caused directly by the deployment. The fund is supported by a voluntary check-box donation on the Massachusetts state income tax return.
Restrictions
The hardship must be a direct result of activation or extended deployment. Applications can be submitted by the deployed service member or their spouse. Administered by the Military Friends Foundation. Fund level depends on annual voluntary tax-return donations, hence "volatile" stability.
