Selected Reserve members (Guard + Reserve) get a separate GI Bill (MGIB-SR / Chapter 1606), $466.21/month full-time as of 2026, for 36 months of college, vocational, or certification training. Earned simply by completing IADT and maintaining a six-year selected-reserve commitment.
Restrictions
Lower monthly amount than Post-9/11, but EARNED ON TOP, not instead. Reserve members get the option: use MGIB-SR while drilling (low monthly) OR earn enough Title-10 active-duty time (typically 90+ days post-9/11/2001) to qualify for Post-9/11 GI Bill on top.
