California's state-run home loan program gives honorably discharged veterans access to 30-year fixed mortgages at competitive rates with low-to-no down payment. Only 90 days of active duty are required. Veterans currently on active duty, and many National Guard and Reserve members, are eligible. The loan amount can exceed conventional conforming limits.
Restrictions
Apply online at calvet.ca.gov/homeloans or call (800) 952-5626. Also offers home improvement loans and construction loans for CalVet-financed properties. Veterans with 10%+ disability rating are exempt from VA funding fee.
