Washington state actively prioritizes veterans in registered apprenticeship programs in the building trades and other industries. Veterans can also use their federal education benefits (GI Bill) during the apprenticeship to supplement income for books, supplies, and living allowances.

Restrictions

Washington's vet active apprenticeship rate was 8.6% as of September 2023, vs. 5.3% nationally. First-year wages range from minimum wage to $30.46/hour; journey-level wages up to $48.75/hour. Full apprenticeship list at lni.wa.gov/licensing-permits/apprenticeship/.
