The VA pays off student loans for recent graduates in specialty clinical fields who agree to work at a VA facility. Targets specialty providers VA is short on (psychiatry, oncology, etc.). Applications now open as of May 2026.
Restrictions
Stacks with PSLF (Public Service Loan Forgiveness), VA employment counts as qualifying public-service work, so SELRP can knock down principal while PSLF handles the rest after 120 qualifying payments. Specialty-list and award amounts published annually by VHA.
