Spouses and children of service members killed in action, missing in action, taken prisoner, or at least 90% permanently disabled from military service receive free tuition and mandatory fees at any Virginia public college or university. Recipients may also qualify for a stipend up to $2,200 per semester for combat-related cases. The benefit covers up to 8 semesters.

Restrictions

Service member must have established Virginia domicile at time of entering service OR for 5+ years prior to the application date. Covers undergraduate and graduate programs. Apply through Virginia DVS at dvs.virginia.gov or call (804) 225-2083.
