New York State pays up to the full cost of SUNY undergraduate tuition for eligible veterans attending any approved college, university, or vocational training program in New York. Veterans who served at least four years of active duty OR served in a combat theater are eligible if honorably discharged. Awards stack with the Montgomery GI Bill but not Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition coverage.

Restrictions

Apply at hesc.ny.gov/vta. Requires FAFSA + TAP application. Full-time and part-time study both eligible. Maximum 4 years (8 semesters) undergraduate. Part-time awards prorated.
