Details

When Wyoming state agencies use a numerical scoring system for hiring, veterans and surviving spouses receive a 5% advantage, and veterans with a service-connected disability of 10% or more receive a 10% advantage over non-veteran candidates. When no scoring system is used, the preference must be equivalent to what a scoring system would give.

Restrictions

Must be a Wyoming resident for at least one year before applying. Preference applies to new hires only, not promotions. Surviving spouse must be receiving federal survivor benefits and was married to the veteran at time of death.
