Illinois veterans ages 19-64 who are uninsured, income-eligible, and not eligible for VA healthcare can enroll in Veterans Care, a state health insurance program offering medical, limited dental, and vision coverage for a monthly premium of $40 or $70 depending on income. Coverage includes doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, lab tests, therapy, and emergency transportation.

Restrictions

Must have been uninsured for at least six months and served at least 180 consecutive days on active duty after training. Apply through an IDVA VSO office or call 877-483-8779.
