Veterans and spouses of veterans applying for Maryland state government jobs may receive preference credit during the hiring process. Former prisoners of war and disabled veterans may receive additional credit. Disabled veterans rated at 30% or more may be eligible for employment without going through a competitive selection process.
Restrictions
Noncompetitive appointment requires documentation of at least 30% disability rating from the VA or armed forces. Veteran must be minimally qualified for the position.
