Veterans and reservists starting a small business in Pennsylvania (100 or fewer employees, veteran or reservist owns at least 51%) are exempt from the initial business registration and filing fees charged by the state Bureau of Corporations. This covers architecture firms, barber shops, cosmetology salons, pharmacies, accountancy firms, real estate brokers, and many other license types.
Restrictions
Effective since January 2, 2017 under Act 135 of 2016. Applies to initial application fees only, not renewals. Provide DD-214 or NGB-22 as proof.
