West Virginia veteran-owned businesses are exempt from paying the $100 state business registration fee when forming a new entity with the Secretary of State. Additionally, the annual report fee of $25 is waived for the first four consecutive years after formation. The veteran must have been honorably discharged and must own at least 51% of the business.

Restrictions

Authorized under WV Code §59-1-2(j) and §59-1-2a(m), effective July 1, 2015. Attach a copy of the DD-214 (the military discharge document) when claiming veteran-owned status. File online at onestop.wv.gov.
