Miami VA launched the D.O.U.L.A.S. Program (Doulas Offering Understanding, Love, Affirmation, and Support) providing trained doula support to expecting and new-mother veterans throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Pilot program expanding to additional VA medical centers.

Miami VA is the pilot site as of 2026. Check with your local VA Women's Health coordinator to ask if your facility has joined the program — they're scaling fast.
