Details
Texas veterans can have initial license application fees waived and receive credit for verified military service, training, or education toward meeting licensing requirements for occupations regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), covering 38 regulated programs including electricians, HVAC contractors, barbers, and more.
Restrictions
Fee waiver applies when the veteran's military service, training, or education substantially meets all license requirements, or when the veteran holds a current equivalent license from another state. Veterans whose license expired while on active duty get an additional two years to renew, no late fees, and an expedited process. Examinations (where required) are still the applicant's responsibility
