Veterans receive bonus points added to their score when applying for Wisconsin state government jobs. Standard veterans get 10 points; veterans with a disability rating under 30% get 15 points; veterans with 30%+ disability get 20 points. Spouses of veterans with 70%+ disability also get 10 points.
Restrictions
Preference applies to initial state employment only, not promotions. A separate non-competitive appointment track exists for veterans with 30%+ service-connected disability, they can apply for state jobs without competing in the civil service assessment. Visit wisc.jobs for current openings.
