Veterans applying for jobs with Georgia state government receive a 5-point credit added to their exam or application score. Veterans with a VA service-connected disability rating of 10% or more receive a 10-point credit. The same 10-point preference extends to spouses of disabled veterans who cannot work due to their disability, and to unremarried widows or widowers of veterans.
Restrictions
5-point credit applies to veterans who served during a period of armed conflict. 10-point credit requires a VA service-connected disability rating of 10% or more. Also available to veterans over 55 receiving disability pension or compensation.
