Rhode Island operates a state veterans' home in Bristol providing skilled nursing and long-term care to eligible veterans. Residents contribute to their care based on their financial means, typically 80% of adjusted net income. Not a Medicare or Medicaid facility. Veterans of all ages who served during wartime, were honorably discharged, and are RI residents (or enlisted from RI) are eligible.

Requirements: honorable discharge, 90+ days active service during wartime, RI resident for 2 consecutive years prior to application OR enlisted from RI. Homeless veteran transitional program also available (Veterans Transitional Supportive Program, VTSP).
