Details

Oregon operates two state veterans' homes, one in Lebanon and one in The Dalles, offering skilled nursing and memory care to veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents (parents who lost a child to wartime service). Daily rates are below typical market rates because the homes combine private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA benefits. A veteran with a 70%+ service-connected disability needing skilled nursing care related to that disability may have some or all costs covered by the VA.

Restrictions

Veteran must have an honorable or general discharge as defined by the VA. Spouses and Gold Star Parents are eligible regardless of their own military service. Memory care is an additional daily cost beyond the base rate.
