New Jersey operates three state-funded nursing homes exclusively for eligible veterans at Paramus, Menlo Park (Edison), and Vineland. These facilities provide around-the-clock medical care, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and recreational activities. Residents pay based on income and ability to pay. Spouses and Gold Star parents of veterans killed in action are also eligible.

Restrictions

Open to honorably discharged veterans from war or peacetime service. Spouse/widow/widower must be at least 50 years of age and married to the veteran for at least 10 years. State residents receive preference. Combined capacity of approximately 948 residents across three facilities.
