North Carolina operates five full-service state veterans homes (Black Mountain, Fayetteville, Kinston, Kernersville, and Salisbury) offering skilled nursing care, physical therapy, and long-term residential care to eligible veterans. There is a cost, but it is typically offset by VA Aid and Attendance benefits.

Restrictions

Must be an honorably discharged NC resident veteran. Physician referral or disability required. All five homes are Joint Commission certified and accept Medicaid/Medicare.
