Children of NC veterans who were killed in action, died from a service-connected condition, were 100% disabled, were prisoners of war, or were MIA may receive a full scholarship covering tuition, room, board, and certain fees at NC public colleges, or a monetary allowance (up to $7,000 per academic year) for private schools. The scholarship covers up to four academic years, used within eight years of the award date.
Restrictions
Applicant must be under 25 at time of application, a NC resident, and the veteran parent must have been a NC resident at time of enlistment or the child born in NC. Applications accepted via the online portal around January 1 and July 1 each year.
