Families of Montana National Guard and Reserve members who are deployed on active federal duty can receive cash grants to help cover food, housing, utilities, and medical costs. Three grant types: status-based ($250 per dependent), need-based (up to $2,000 if income drops 30%+), and casualty-based ($2,000 for combat injuries).
Restrictions
Member must be deployed for at least 30 consecutive days in a federal contingency operation. Pay grade must be O-3 or W-3 or below for status-based grant. Dependents must be enrolled in Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Grants awarded first-come, first-served.
