Operation Homefront's Military Child of the Year® Award recognizes one outstanding military child (ages 13-18) from each branch, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, plus an Innovation Award winner. Recipients receive $10,000 scholarship + laptop + paid trip to DC for the awards gala.
Restrictions
Nominate at militarychildoftheyear.org each fall (October-December). 8 winners total per year. Even non-winning nominees often qualify for related Operation Homefront scholarships. Strong story-with-money fit for military kids who've shown leadership through deployment-period family caretaking.
