Indiana veterans and active-duty personnel who drove military trucks or commercial vehicles during their service can apply to have the commercial driver's license (CDL) skills test waived, skipping the behind-the-wheel exam portion and going straight to the written tests. Must apply within one year of discharge.
Restrictions
Written tests cannot be waived. Must have operated a vehicle equivalent to the CDL class sought. Apply at any BMV branch with DD-214, commander's letter, and military license.
