Miles for Military is a nonprofit that converts donated airline miles into free flights for active duty U.S. service members. To receive a ticket, service members must complete 25 hours of volunteer work with an approved 501(c)(3) charity, then apply through the Miles for Military portal at least one month before the requested travel date. Each verified member can receive up to one free ticket per year. The program helps service members get home to their families for holidays, celebrations, or personal needs.
Restrictions
Eligibility is active duty only per the Hero Program Agreement (milesformilitary.org/hero-program-agreement/). The 25-hour volunteer requirement must be documented by the charitable organization as part of the application. Applications must be submitted at least one month in advance. Maximum one ticket per year per member.
