Maine covers 100% of tuition and all related fees at any University of Maine System school, Maine Community College, or Maine Maritime Academy for spouses and dependents of eligible veterans. To qualify, the veteran must have lived in Maine for at least five years and have a 100% total and permanent service-connected VA disability, be missing in action, have died from a service-connected disability, or have been killed in action. Spouses have 10 consecutive years to complete the program; children have 6 consecutive years.
Restrictions
The veteran (if living) must continue to reside in Maine throughout the duration of benefits. Spouses may enroll in certificate, associate, bachelor's, or master's degree programs.
