Active members of the Louisiana National Guard get free tuition at any in-state public college or university through the State Tuition Exemption Program (STEP). The program covers tuition only, fees, books, and room and board are not included.
Restrictions
Must be actively drilling, a Louisiana resident, in good standing with the Guard, and pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree. Applies to public colleges only. Does not cover mandatory fees or living expenses.
