The Louisiana Department of Health's Office of Behavioral Health coordinates mental health and substance use services for veterans across the state. Veterans can access state-funded counseling and crisis support through LDH-connected providers, including the 988 Behavioral Health Crisis Line.

Restrictions

State-run behavioral health system works alongside VA services. Veterans can call or text 988 (press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line). LDH maintains a behavioral health services locator at ldh.la.gov/page/behavioral-health-services. Local LDVA parish service offices can also connect veterans with mental health resources.
