Honorably discharged NC resident veterans are eligible for in-state tuition at NC public colleges and universities. Active-duty service members and their family members stationed in NC may also qualify for in-state rates under federal law.
Restrictions
Established under the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act (Choice Act). Active-duty members and dependents stationed in NC get resident rates regardless of formal state residency. Veterans using GI Bill benefits are also protected by the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018.
