Spouses, children, and unremarried surviving spouses of certain disabled or deceased veterans can attend any California Community College, California State University, or University of California campus without paying mandatory tuition or systemwide fees. There are four eligibility plans (A, B, C, D) depending on whether the veteran is totally disabled, deceased from a service-connected cause, a National Guard member, or a Medal of Honor recipient.
Restrictions
Does not cover books, parking, or room and board. Must apply annually at any California County Veterans Service Office (CVSO). California residency required. Use the fee waiver calculator on the CalVet website to check plan eligibility.
