Maryland operates the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in St. Mary's County, a 126-acre facility offering skilled nursing, assisted living, Alzheimer's care, and rehabilitation services to eligible Maryland veterans. Admission is open to honorably discharged Maryland veterans age 62 or older, or those deemed disabled by the VA or Social Security Administration. Non-veteran spouses of eligible veterans may also be admitted.

Restrictions

434-bed facility including a 42-bed Alzheimer's secured unit and a 16-bed women's nursing care unit. Cost of care varies based on income and disability rating. Daily transportation to the DC VA Medical Center is provided free of charge.
