Dependents of eligible Alabama veterans can receive up to five standard academic years (10 semesters) of free tuition, required textbooks, and instructional fees at all public universities, colleges, and technical schools in Alabama, plus 13 approved private institutions. The qualifying veteran must have a permanent service-connected disability rated at 20% or more, have been a prisoner of war, or have died in service.
Restrictions
Apply through the Alabama G.I. Dependent Scholarship Portal at va.alabama.gov. Benefits transfer to another qualifying school at the student's request.
