Details

Eligible veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating (or rated individually unemployable) receive a refundable state income tax credit equal to 100% of property taxes paid on their primary Wisconsin residence plus up to one acre of land. Unremarried surviving spouses of qualifying veterans receive the same credit.

Restrictions

Veteran must have a 100% service-connected disability OR 100% individual unemployability rating. WDVA certifies eligibility; credit is claimed via Wisconsin state income tax return. Joint-ownership properties can only claim the veteran's ownership percentage. Farm/business portions excluded.
