Mississippi operates two state veterans memorial cemeteries, one in Newton and one in Kilmichael, offering burial for veterans, spouses, and dependents. As of July 2024, eligible National Guardsmen and Reservists can also be buried here. Burial costs are approximately $445 for in-ground casket or cremation, or $950 plus $115 for columbarium niche placement.
Restrictions
Discharge must be under other than dishonorable conditions. All burials occur Monday through Friday. Payment must be received in full by cashier check or money order before services are rendered.
