Details

Active-duty service members who were Connecticut residents at induction, and National Guard or Reserve members called to active duty, can get their vehicle registration fees waived by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. The waiver covers new and renewal registration fees, temporary plate fees, safety plate fees, and clean air fees, but not title, lien, or sales tax. Honorably discharged veterans can also claim the waiver within two years of discharge.

Restrictions

Submit DMV Form B-276 with DD-214 or active duty orders. Late fees may also be waived if registration is renewed within 60 days of discharge.
