Rhode Island veterans can add a free "Veteran" designation to an existing Rhode Island driver's license or state ID. Requires an honorable discharge and a DD-214 or other military service documentation stating "honorable." The designation is a free transaction at the RI DMV.
Restrictions
Statute: RIGL 31-10-48. Requires existing RI credential plus DD-214 stating "honorable." Separate from the 100% disabled veteran designation (see below).
