Details

Texas veterans with a service-connected disability rating between 10 and 99 percent qualify for a partial property tax exemption on any one property they own. The exemption amount scales with the disability rating, from $5,000 off assessed value at 10-29 percent up to $12,000 at 70-100 percent.

Restrictions

Unlike the 100% homestead exemption, this partial exemption can apply to any one property the veteran owns, not limited to primary residence. Apply using Form 50-135. Surviving unmarried spouse and children under 18 may also qualify.
