Veterans with loss or loss of use of both lower extremities who own and occupy a home specifically designed for wheelchair access are fully exempt from all property taxes on that dwelling. The unremarried widow or widower of such a veteran retains the same full exemption as long as they live in the same home.
Restrictions
The home must be specifically designed for wheelchair use within the structure. The veteran must have owned and occupied the home for one full calendar year before the exemption takes effect. Apply annually at county courthouse by November 1.
