Oregon veterans and their immediate family members who face a sudden financial crisis can apply for a one-time emergency grant from the state. The grant covers emergency housing, utilities, insurance, house repairs, mortgage or rent assistance, emergency medical or dental expenses, and emergency transportation. Grant payments go directly to creditors, not to applicants.

Restrictions

One grant per lifetime. Applications due by the 10th of every month. Submit through a county or tribal Veteran Services Office or Veteran Advocate. Surviving spouse must be un-remarried. Oregon residence required.
