Details

Disabled Oregon veterans who receive or qualify for Social Security disability benefits can "borrow" from the state to pay their property taxes to the county. The Oregon Department of Revenue pays the county on the veteran's behalf; six percent of the deferred taxes accrue as a lien on the property and must be repaid with interest.

Restrictions

Apply through the county assessor's office. Taxes plus interest and fees must be repaid (typically upon sale of property).
