Oregon Incarcerated Veterans Program: Benefits and Re-Entry Support
Oregon veterans entering or transitioning out of the state prison system can get help from ODVA's Incarcerated Veterans Program.
Details
Oregon veterans entering or transitioning out of the state prison system can get help from ODVA's Incarcerated Veterans Program. ODVA coordinators work inside the Oregon Department of Corrections to determine whether justice-involved veterans remain eligible for VA or other benefits, and to connect veterans and their families with health care, employment, and education programs to support stability during and after incarceration.
Restrictions
Program established 2016. Eligibility for VA benefits during incarceration depends on conviction type and sentence length. ODVA coordinators navigate those rules on a case-by-case basis.
