Nebraska veterans, their spouses, and dependents can receive emergency financial help when a hardship disrupts their normal way of living and other resources aren't immediately available. Established in 1921, NVA can help pay for food, rent or mortgage, utilities, eyeglasses, hearing aids, pre-approved dental bills, medical bills, transportation, and funeral expenses.

Restrictions

Requested through a local County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO). Must exhaust normal payment methods first. Program dates to 1921. Does not cover luxury items; focuses on essential living expenses.
