North Carolina provides free burial for eligible veterans at four state veterans cemeteries located in Black Mountain, Jacksonville, Goldsboro, and Spring Lake (Fort Bragg area). Veterans must have been NC residents at the time of death, for at least 10 years prior, or at the time of entering military service. A burial fee applies for spouses.
Restrictions
Spouses, widows/widowers, and certain dependent children may also be interred, with a fee for family members. Services by appointment only. Contact individual cemeteries for current spouse/dependent fee amounts.
