Details

Any active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, or reserve components including the CT National Guard) can exempt one vehicle from Connecticut property tax, regardless of where the vehicle is garaged, in-state or out-of-state.

Restrictions

File a written application with the town assessor by December 31 of the assessment year. Applies to leased vehicles too, lessee can request a refund of tax paid.
