Details

Any honorably discharged veteran with a service-connected disability of 60% or greater, or who was a prisoner of war, may hunt most Missouri wildlife without a permit. They must carry a certified eligibility statement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Deer, elk, turkey, and black bear hunts require standard permits; waterfowl requires a federal duck stamp.

Restrictions

Nonresidents with a 60%+ service-connected disability are also eligible (no residency required). The permit exemption does not include trapping. Veterans who are prisoners of war qualify under the same rule.
