Minnesota operates four state veterans cemeteries (in Little Falls, Preston, Duluth, and Redwood Falls) where eligible veterans can be buried at no cost. The cemetery provides the grave plot or columbarium niche, a headstone, committal services, and perpetual care, all free for the veteran. Spouses and eligible dependents may also be buried at the same cemetery for $1,002.

Restrictions

No Minnesota residency requirement, veterans from any state who meet eligibility may be buried here. Veterans must have been discharged under other than dishonorable conditions. Guard and Reserve members who die on active duty training or who have 20 creditable years for retirement are also eligible. Pre-register at MinnesotaVeteran.org/CEM or call 1-888-LinkVet.
