NC veterans can choose from over 30 military and veteran specialty license plates, including Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, Disabled Veteran, Ex-POW, and era-specific plates (Vietnam, Korea, WWII, etc.). Some plates carry no extra fee; others cost $10. The Congressional Medal of Honor, Legion of Valor, and Disabled Veteran plates are free.
Restrictions
Apply using Form MVR-33A, which must be certified by a NC Veterans Service Officer before submission to NCDMV. Standard license plate fee still applies. Personalization available for $30 additional annual fee.
